Discount Picture Frames
These framing tips include ideas for using discount picture frames to make artwork prints look their best. The paper size of choice for my prints is 11x17 inches. This was a deliberate choice on my part because I wanted to frame my own copies of the prints in standard sized 16x20 inch frames. There is a huge selection of beautiful ready made frames on the market in this size and they are usually very reasonably priced compared to a similar sized custom frame of the same design. Custom Cut the Mattes
I like to use the savings from the frame on custom cut mattes which add nicely to the way the artwork shows when hung on the wall. The framer's I've worked with over the years have been good about using the standard frame and suggesting cuts and colors for the mattes. The double floating matte is my favorite but it is one of many good alternatives imaginative framers have suggested.
