How was the Pop Art Movement influenced by the Andy Warhol famous paintings?
The Campbell’s Soup Can is the most famous of all the Andy Warhol paintings and it became the artist’s signature piece. The soup cans quickly became a symbol of the entire Pop Art Movement along with Roy Lichtenstein’s giant comics. Both artists sold hundreds of prints and posters and their work is hung in many museums including the Museum of Modern Art.
When Andy Warhol painted the first Campbell Soup Can in 1962 the gallery show in Los Angles stirred controversy because he used a silk screen process that can be easily reproducible by almost anybody and that propelled the Warhol art to star status. Warhol went on to fuel the controversy, and achieve great fame and fortune, by silk screening portraits of celebrities or simple objects like:

The controversy grew from artist discussions to the general population through lots of media attention making Andy Warhol not only a member of the Pop Art Movement but also one of its well known leaders.
